Live Love Laugh...

Other Programs

India only has 3,500 trained psychiatrists and even fewer psychologists. This means that there are only 3 psychiatrists for a million people. What’s worse is that stigma and discrimination faced by these people and their families prevent them from seeking guidance.
Founded by Deepika Padukone, who was diagnosed with depression during the peak of her career, the Live Love Laugh Foundation hopes to change this.

Enabling brighter Futures

Projects we Fund

Projects we fund

In 2016, The Live Love Laugh Foundation joined hands with The Association of People with Disability (APD) to provide quality psychiatric treatment and promote the recovery of Persons with Mental Illness (PwMIs). Through treatment camps and surveys, we were able to reach out to 819 PwMIs from Harihara, Jagaluru, Harapanahalli & Davangere taluks. A database of these PwMIs was created using Goonjan – a software solution for NGOs. The PwMIs were also assured that they would have access to various psychiatric services like therapy, counselling, and medication.

Under this initiative, APD will host fortnightly/monthly health camps and residential camps in these taluks and provide training to VRWs, ASHA workers, ANMs (Auxiliary nurse midwife) and health officials at Taluk and PHC (Primary Health Care) levels.

Partnership with NIMHANS for 2017 - 2018

The Live Love Laugh Foundation is proud to partner with NIMHANS to enable Psychiatrists to continue their bi-monthly/every fortnight visits to Davangere.
